Our Approach
Gifted learners are often described as “ahead,” but being ahead is not the same as being challenged. Many of these children finish assignments quickly, ask questions that go well beyond the lesson, and then quietly lose interest when the work does not stretch them. Thynkbloom exists to give that curiosity somewhere to go.
Our sessions are built around five core thinking skills: logical and critical thinking, creative thinking and writing, depth and complexity strategies, brainstorming and ideation, and research with project-based learning. Rather than assigning more of the same work, we ask better questions, offer real problems to wrestle with, and let each child’s interests set the direction.
A typical session is active and conversational. It might begin with a short thinking puzzle, move into a discussion or a creative challenge, and end with a small project the child can carry forward on their own. There are no worksheets for the sake of worksheets, and every session is shaped around the learner in front of us, including children who are twice-exceptional and need support alongside challenge.
Families receive a short summary after each session so that the learning continues at home, and our resources and blog are designed to help parents and teachers bring the same strategies into everyday life.
